A temple rooftop in Chiang Mai erupts into color in this one-of-a-kind mixed media piece. It began as an original photograph I took in Chiang Mai in August 2025. Through a geometric design and layering process in Photoshop, I transformed the image into an illustration, breaking the temple's intricate rooflines and ornate eaves into fractured, kaleidoscopic shapes.
The illustration is printed on high quality archival watercolor paper, then layered by hand with Copic Sketch markers in a energetic scribble pattern. I deliberately color outside the lines, letting vivid oranges, magentas, purples, and blues spill past the edges to capture the movement and spirit of the place rather than a literal view of it.
Each piece is finished by hand, so no two are exactly alike. Custom one-of-one art. This is an original piece and signed by me.
Piece ships unmatted and unframed. Mock-ups pictured are strictly for visualization purposes.
Details:
Print size: 13 x 19 inches
Drawing size: 11 5/8 x 15.5 inches

Original photo: Chiang Mai, Thailand, August 2025
